The Wellington Boot Restaurant
Guernsey has often been described as the Channel Island paradise for Gourmets. Hotel de Havelet is home to two of the most popular St. Peter Port restaurants: The Wellington Boot Restaurant and Copenhagen Bar and Grill Restaurant both located in the hotel's converted coach house.
The name "Wellington Boot" is due to local legend which tells of a liaison between Henrietta Le Marchant and the Duke of Wellington, and the Duke arranging for part of the house to be rebuilt before Henrietta is hurriedly married to a Captain de Courncey.
The Wellington Boot Restaurant - Situated on the first floor, this fine Guernsey restaurant has splendid views over the Channel Islands.
